A few years back a neighborhood was being built that I was able to tour. Martha Stewart and KB Home created an exclusive community of single-family homes called Twin Lakes, located in The Town of Cary. The interiors were modeled with many Martha Stewart furnishings. I was able to snag a few inside pictures that I will begin to share through out a few posts here and there. I saved them as I took pictures of things I liked. Here are a few.
I love that the chairs were painted in a vibrate color. The symmetry in the living room is nice and the loft area upstairs was fabulous.

Fairytale Playhouse
I remember as a little girl making "make shift playhouses". My grandmother would save big boxes for me and I would make \my own cool playhouses. Of course lets remember they were BOXES and not this. My grandmother would help me cut out windows and cut out space for a door. I stumbled across this today and told my husband if we ever were to be so lucky to have the chance to build one of these.... It would be awesome. I can imagine how creative a kid could be if they had one of these. I know I would have spent hours in this if I had one. Is this not soooo cool? They did an awesome job.
That concludes our darling tour, for more on the playhouse go here

Gobble, Gobble
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Today, I am thankful for my husband, family, friends, life, the future, and well fresh flowers! I love Eddie Ross, I could just Gobble him up! Check out his lovely flower designs below and to view more go check out his blog, here
Can he not make an arrangement or what? How gorgeous would this be for one of my blushing fall brides or for an arrangement for your house?
I have made a few of these pumpkin vases before and they are always a hit. This arrangement down below stole the show! Gorgeous mix of mum, pears, leaves, greenery, and apricot roses. Love it! Now he is definetly someone I wouldn't mind pairing up with to do a wedding! I am sure my brides wouldn't mind either.
From my house to your house, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Cupcake Delight
I stumbled across this trying to look up Thanksgiving recipes! What a a find. I will definitely remember this for future events or for my brides. You can never find a great cupcake stand. This one can collapse which is a plus and saves on storage! What I like the most is the design of the stand it self. I think it looks way more dressy than most stands out there. Plus, it is a home grown business of two sisters which I think is fabulous. Check it out. They come in tiny, small, medium, and Large. I think this would be a great addition to have. Think of how many times you do a kids birthday party, baby shower, wedding shower, holiday. You can interchange the ribbon too.

Behr to the Rescue
I love this color from Behr (Mocha Accent). This room was inspired and designed by Isbella&Max Rooms. However, I stumbled across the finished product just now on hgtv rate my space and recognized it:) I thought it was worth showing off as inspiration. I truly think it looks great! I love what they did with the room. All the details come together. The crisp, white, pinched duvet is complimented by the star burst mirror. The comfy barcelona white leather reading chair and the white contemporary light pull everything together. Here is the before picture down below. Note how the designer "lifted the ceiling". The illusion of lifting the ceiling was done by using paint. The trey ceiling that was painted white was making the room feel smaller. The designer lifted the ceiling so to speak by taking the paint up to the crown molding. You can click on the pictures for a up close look. I think it makes a big difference.
Here are the afters....

Save Big this Season
All of us have neighbors, friends, teachers, etc. we need to buy for this Season. I thought I would share some super cheap ideas. Pier one has some deals for sure. To top it all off some are under $5 bucks. Now that is dealie if I have ever seen one. Here are few items that you could fill with almost any goodie. For example, bath n body products, or ornaments, or baked goods. Anything your heart desires. The bonus is that most of these gifts can be re-purposed and used for other functions year after year in the holiday season. This is a sleigh basket that comes in at $5.
This star basket is a mere $10
I thought this one was definitely a steal, you could pack this one full of things and the price tag is not too shabby, $6. I could think of a million things to do with this beauty if it was given to me.
My personal favorite, coming in at a whooping $3.50. I can see truffles in the horizon in this cute Santa bucket.
These items were a bit more, but still in the range of $12-20. These adorable baskets are adorned in gold/glitter and would make the perfect gift holders.
What are you waiting for? Get cracking on that Christmas shopping! Be sure to leave a comment and come back to share what all you put in your Pier one Fav's.

KREATIV BLOGGER, say what???
Wow, first of all I would like to thank my newest fans and followers. Ha, that cracks me up. I wanted to try and make that sound like an acceptance speech as I did just get nominated for an award. Seriously, I am tickled pink that home23duncanboys thought of me. Thank you so very much. This is my first blogger award. Therefore, let me see if I do this right! Here it goes...
Here are the rules that I must follow:
1. Thank the person who nominated you for the award.
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you for the award.
4. Name 7 things about yourself that people may not know.
5. Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on each.
Here are 7 things about me that people may not know.
1. I do pretty goofy things. Ridiculous but true, a few things come to mind. As of this morning I was so busy that I put my blackberry in the refrigerator. (In my defense it was in my lunchbox and I didn't just place it on a shelf for safe keeping) AND we ran out of shampoo and I grabbed a sample thinking it was shampoo and it was RINSE aka conditioner. No clue. So, needless to say my hair today at work has been pretty funny looking. Past ridiculous things, I broke my ankle trying to PRANK my husband on our annual family beach trip.
2. Sometimes I wonder why I put so much emphasis on my home. I definitely love design and decorating for sure but I truly appreciate my home. I think it stems from growing up many years living in an apartment. I loved every minute of my family life but I remember as a child wanting to have a yard and a house. For years my family searched for land in order to build a home with the rest of our extended family. I remember driving around with my parents and looking at houses, land, etc. Sundays were spent touring homes and driving all around. I think the big excitement finally came when my parents told me we were building a house. I was in middle school by this point. So, I think my love of a home comes from the excitement my family felt when we got our first house and could decorate it!
3. Immediate friends may know this but maybe some of my outside followers would not know. By day, I work in Clinical Research, however by night and any other time, my heart and head is in design world. Thinking of interior design or floral design is my passion.
4. I heart Edward Cullen and the Twlight Saga books. That may have been two simple of a statement. Let me just say that I heart anything Vampire related. I watch True Blood on HBO and now Vampire Diaries. Also, I have been stalking when the New Moon movie comes out, which is November 20th in order that I can purchase movie tickets for the second Twlight saga movie. I have to ensure they do not sale out!
5. Secretly, I wish I could be a back up dancer. I will not discriminate on who wants me to dance in their videos. Okay, I bluffed a little. I may be a little picky. Call me Justin or Usher, I am free!
6.Fav movies as a kid, Romance in the Stone and Goonies
7. I went to the University of North Carolina (Tar heels) if your in the South, you should know this ACC team:)
8. I hate having my blood drawn or even touched on my wrists or neck. Any touching near any major veins will make me cringe.
I nominate several other fellow bloggers that I think are fabulous.... drum roll....
1- Young house love. I love that I just stumbled across them on the net one day when searching for DIY yard projects. I couldn't stop reading their blog. I was so impressed with their DIY ranch renovation but even more so that they are so down to earth and funny. To date I do not miss a day without reading them or their fellow pooch.
2-Burger, who is the fellow pooch to the adorable young house love couple.
3- Brooklyn Limestone also another fav of mine. She has wonderful taste in decor and is a delight to read. Did I mention how cool her limestone is that her and her hubby re-finished?
4- My Sweet Savannah, I stumbled across her house tour on hgtv and then come to find out small world but all the other bloggers I stumbled across had also found her! Great minds think alike I suppose. Her daily inspiration photos are great.
photos she posts on her blog.
5- Daily Coyote This blog is not a design blog at all, however it is story of a women who rescued Charlie, the coyote when he was ten days old after his parents were shot after hunters were shooting sheep. This lady raised this Coyote along with her dog and cat. If you ever get a chance read some old stories and view the photos of her journey in Wyoming raising this adorable house of furry animals. Her photography is amazing. You can see shots of the life of all her animals.
6-Thrify Decor Chick, as she has awesome DIY tips, especially her dining room centerpiece she recently featured a few posts back. Go check it out.
7- Its the little things that make a house a home is another great blog I stumbled across, check her blog out some time.

Do share...
I love that we can find almost anything when we dig around. Here are my inspiration finds for the day. I am trying to find some inspiration for our guest bedroom or Master. Here are some I stumbled across today. Hummmmmmm, maybe I convince the hubby this could be a Christmas gift, HA! That might intrigue him, the fact he wouldn't have to shop except at Lowes!
I like the molding paired with the chocolate brown. Our bedding in the guest room is cream and chocolate. However, I am thinking molding would really jazz it up a bit in there. Other aspects I love in this room, the lighting and the bedding. Apparently, the bedding is Bradford Toile from Pottery Barn, however discontinued. I love taking a plain comforter and doing a design at the foot of the bed with perhaps a duvet. The splash of color with the pillows is nice and the added throw at the end of the bed ties everything all in. I am big fan of this room and I give it five stars and can add this one into the idea book.

Rope them in
At least that is what Eddie Bauer at Home Paint did to me. ROPE is the color of paint I decided to use in my Guest bathroom. It is a small space and I wanted to keep it light and airy. Plus, you know I do love grey. I find that it is the "Perfect light Grey". Personal opinion of course. However, I did have a close girlfriend/neighbor paint her entire living room and kitchen area in this color as well. It turned out great. Here are few Before & After pictures. We removed the builders mirror and installed our own.

Design full of color
I loved this wedding idea. This was the first bride I had worked with that chose to have different color of bouquets for each of her girls. We designed a yellow, pink, dark blue, light blue, deep purple, and orange bouquet. The Bride chose what color represented each of her girls and put a note with the bouquet to describe the characteristics she loved about her friends. The Bride then chose to take colors from each of her best friends bouquets to form her bouquet of colorful blooms. I had such a blast choosing different variety of flowers to make up the bouquets. It is always fun designing something from scratch of items you have chosen.
